Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hello all,

My name is Wisdom_Seeker, you may call me WS for short. I'm here to seek wisdom, facts, truths, knowledge... in order to fight ignorance, lies, propaganda, and the rest of the mumbo jumbo we are fed every day through Media and other sources. My views could be wrong, nobody is perfect, so am here to correct/modify/edit my views if am proven wrong. Let the challenge begin.

You may want to know I am a MUSLIM and an ARAB. *notices a few eyebrows raised* Oh yes, its gona get interesting around here So give me the mic and I'll show the other side of the coin, the other side of the story.

Anyway I feel there is a gap between this side and the other side, a distance which has developed due to current affairs, the war, foreign politics etc, a lot of ignorance which led to misunderstanding and intollerance. Hopefully, my presence here will remove some of those barriers and narrow that gap.

I look forward to contributing here.

Ciao,

WS.

Welcome aboard. We haven't tended to have a lot of Muslims here. I'm personally looking forward to hearing your take on a number of issues.

Welcome WS...I am not Moslem but I was born in Morocco...yes, it will be interesting to read your posts. I sure agree with you about the "gap" bizzo , and it's not just between "the West" and "Moslems".

See you around...

And welcome Travis, too.

Welcome and thanks for your service to the county. THIS American appreciates it.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Ok. Instead of reading through 80 pages of "HI I am..." I'll just jump in. I'm Jack. I'm 52, married with two kids. Both Juniors - My son in college and my daughter in High School. I enjoy discussing current events and sports. Although I'm a registered Democrat, I have never voted straight party in my life and never will. I am an IT tech working as a state civil servant. I enjoy lively debate, and I hate labels. I figure if the only response to my point is to hang a label on me then you have no pertinent points to consider continuing the discussion. I'll probably be snooping a lot before adding my two cents. Or maybe not.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Greetings all. My name is John, though that's not evident in my username unless you know any German. I am agnostic (not atheist, not theist), liberal, and I guess kind of a lower-middle class if you wanna get specific, so I'm big on rights, taxes, and other such issues that affect those with lower incomes more than anyone else. I'm 14 years old (which in no way means I don't know what I'm talking about), and, for clarification, I am 100% against any war that I feel is not simply for the defense of America.
I look forward to some good debates and discussions on this forum. Thanks for havin' me, eveyone.

Welcome, John. I am a good deal older than you, but I pretty much share your outlook on things. I am on a low income, and it's so nice to know that there are young people like you who care. I have been interested in working class politics since I was young, though not quite as young as you, and also in social justice and peace. I wholeheartedly agree with you that countries should not wage war if it is not in self-defence, though I think there is room to discuss the right and wrong of intervention for the defence of others, if the motives are pure. But, that's a big question and it is a discussion for the forum. I'll look out for your posts.

Welcome

Tethys

Isn't that sweet!

Crystal has got a new boyfriend! Bring him on - I suspect he hasn't been sufficiently moved far enough yet - independent is good progress though.
