Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Been registered for 30 days it seems as the nastygram about not having posting authority no longer appears.

I'm a conservative, married 30 years with a beautiful daughter and three dogs.

Perhaps I'll make some posts now that I'm permitted.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi everyone. I'm 19 years old and I live in Britain, but I was born in the US to an American father and British mother. I'm a student here in Britain, at SOAS, doing (surprise, surprise ) politics. I'm also a member of the Labour Party and I've worked for Labour MPs in the past, though by no means am I some unreformed New Labour type. I mean, I go as far as to describe myself as a socialist.

Despite that, I am fascinated by American politics and I've been looking for quite a while for a good American political forum. I've looked at a lot of political forums and it always seems to descend into quite nasty, illogical arguments. I'd signed up to this site a while ago but now I'm back, I've had another look around and I have to say that most of the threads do seem to be a lot more interesting and the arguments more valid than in a lot of other forums.

I'm sure I'll enjoy reading what you all have to say.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hey. I'm Justin. I am 26 years old, I was born on Long Island, New York. I moved down to South Carolina to attend college, and I recently earned my bachelor's in political science from Coastal Carolina University. I'm contemplating what to do next; I'm a bit lost in terms of a precise career path. My politics are certainly to the left of most Americans. In terms of my view of the world, I would describe myself as a human rights hawk and a liberal internationalist (or liberal interventionist). I believe the U.S. should intervene often in the world on behalf of American values and ideals (justice, freedom, democracy, human rights). I believe Bush's great failure (well, one of many) was not his decision to intervene and bring about regime change in Iraq, but his unforgivable subsequent botching of the war's execution. I have no party affiliation and no ideological one. I subscribe to no religion and consider myself an anti-theist, in that I find religion to be positively harmful. I oppose all forms of tribalism, patriotism, and nationalism. I consider myself a global citizen, not an American citizen. I am an ardent cosmopolitan, I believe in universal principles and fundamental equality of rights for all human beings. But that's enough for now. I look forward to chatting with you guys and gals. Thanks for having me.

Re: The Introduce Yourself thread!

Hi, my name is Josiah. I am a concerned US citizen who leans very much to the conservative side of issues. I do my best to speak out against globalist alliances and organizations, against the imbalance of government that is so rampant in our day, against "career politicians" who have ceased to be public servants. I support the troops, but not the politicians who sent them there. I tend to be very cynical and pessimistic, but I will try to keep a cap on that on this forum.

I run a small discussion forum of my own, which putters along with all 35 of its members. I look forward to learning and sharing information with all of you.

Hello,
My name is Aaron. I go by the screen name, aaronssongs. I'm a black, gay, musician, writer, and producer, living in Houston, Texas, having grown up in Chicago, Ill. I claim to be a moderately liberal Democrat (of course), and I support, wholeheartedly, Barack Obama for POTUS. Greetings, all.
