Bush again, or should I say 'yet" or "Still"

His press conferance today, where he again stated that no one should be telling the Generals how to mirc-manage or conduct a war. I wonder what he thinks he was doing when he decided which General was to be in charge Based on his own plans???? and which one would follow them.

Nope this won't change anything, but I am disgusted, and had to Rant.

Re: Bush again, or should I say 'yet" or "Still"

He keeps saying that. He must not remember all the Generals that he retired because they didn't agree with him about how many troops to send, what kind of war plan to use etc....

And now he keeps accusing the Democrats of doing what he's been doing all along, orchestrating the war from behind his desk.

He must think we are as stupid as he is.

Indeed. That's been obvious for some time now. What a worthless leader.

I got a kick out of it when he said "You can't have politicians in Washington telling the Generals how to fight a war".

I think he forgot that him and Cheney are "politicians in Washington".

Little more than liberal whining.

Who should he have appointed? Someone who disagrees with him at every turn?

If you were the Presdient, would you appoint someone who you knew held an opinion different than your own?

Absolutely. It helps eliminate groupthink. Surrounding yourself with yes-men is a sign of weakness.

So a President should surround himself with people he might view as disloyal?

How does that make sense?

Wait, nevermind... It doesn't...

Dissent is loyal.

Don't take a moronic point of view, it makes you look like a moron.

Last i heard they ask the generals what they need and they give it to the generals once the generals tell them what's what...

I think a good president would appoint people who speak their mind about important issues, regardless of whether or not the president hold the same views. And a good president would value dissenting opinions.

Loyalty to the truth is what is important.

Bush created an atmosphere of loyalty to a person, and there was fear that disloyalty to that person would end in punishment. In other words, the climate was one where people didn't speak their minds and only told the president what he wanted to hear.

And that's different to which other world leader or politician with any power around the world Andrew? Do you think Harper or even Martin before were or are any different?

The only difference is that Bush is remarkably uneducated and uninformed. (i won't say stupid because in his own way he might actually be clever). His instincts to do with world affairs and foreign policy are obviously always wrong. Loyalty to a person under such circumstances is just a disaster waiting to happen. Having Bush as president after 9/11 was just an unfortunate circumstance all around.

Re: Bush again, or should I say 'yet" or "Still"

Says you, to some it may seem the likes of you and others are uneducated and uninformed. You haveno experience of foreign policy or war, you have no experience of global affairs yet you seem to think what he does is "always wrong". The one and only difference between Bush and the others is the incredible level of loyalty he has from his aides and supported, including cabinet level officials all the way down to the idiots in Congress in our own party.

This proves my point, to the extreme.

You are absolutely correct, I have no experience in foreign policy and war and yet my concerns and criticisms since day 1 have been almost entirely accurate... Im not saying this to toot my own horn, im saying if i got it right and the president of the uberpower got it wrong, what does that say about the quality and abilities of the president??? And my goodness, why would anybody be loyal to such a man?
