Re: The Economy is Fine: Nothing to See Here..

I hope it IS merely incompetence. If the economy is being hurt intentionally, the people DOING that damage are the ones in power, and there will be nothing we can do about it. ESPECIALLY when we only seem to care about how the government is run when the presidential races come around, and not when we have the opportunity to rid ourselves of a corrupt and incompetent legislature.

The thing that's truly remarkable is that while Americans whine about the state of Congress they usually complement their own representatives. It's as if they thing every other representative is the problem. I know it's unconstitutional but if there was a way to keep uninformed people from voting things would really improve in this nation.

And, if recent elections is any indication, about 2/3 of the country would need to have their right to vote taken away.

That of course is not possible, unconstitutional and just plain wrong. I prefer my plan. To slap some sense into these idiot sheep, and keep slapping until they say they "get it".

After that, keep slapping them until I get tired of it. Just for the hell of it. Plus, they deserve it anyway.

They'll get repeatedly slapped by their wallets, but they won't get it until it's far too late.

Re: The Economy is Fine: Nothing to See Here..

Perhaps the fact that most people approve of their own representative and not the others is the power these people have over our ability to gain information about them, the dismal effect of our schools on our intelligence, and the fact that generally, representatives are representative of their constituency. Decreasing the number of voters is a consolidation of power in the hands of the few, which is what got us into this crisis in the first place.

And even then they'll have the Republicans, or the Democrats (whichever the "other side" is to them) to blame.

You would be able to count the votes on your fingers. Most Americans, over 99%, don't have a clue as to what is going on in the world.

lol

Can you say Anger Management?

Slapping will not work. The only thing that will wake the people is hard economic times. By the time this happens, the powers that be will be so totally entrenched, nothing will be able to break their grip on power. It might be too late now.
