Re: President Bush Villiage Idiot or Evil Mastermind
Ironic that with the options being 3/1 against Bush and a one in 4 "neutral" option, that the 3/1 odds against it being neutral still show a majority for it, in a 4 way market, remarkably showing that yet again the Anti-Bush nutjobs are out numbered by sane folks.

Re: President Bush Villiage Idiot or Evil Mastermind
Exactly! As a rule I would not respond to this crap because it's not worthy of my time nor intellect. . .But in this case I will make an exception
What those who have posted thus far unfavorably of Bush (evil, village idiot, ect.) don't realize is that thier castigation of a wartime president even a victorious or worthy cause -- it's hardly new. World War I and its aftermath destroyed Woodrow Wilson. FDR's closest election was his fourth, just as the war was turning for the better (a far better fate than his coalition partner Winston Churchill, who was thrown out of office before the final victory that he had done so much to ensure). Truman did not seek re-election in the mess of Korea. Vietnam destroyed Lyndon Johnson and crippled Nixon. Bush's father found no lasting thanks for his miraculous victory in the Gulf war, and Clinton's decision to put down Serbian genocide -- a victory obtained without the loss of a single American life -- didn't help him one iota when impeachment neared. Our generals become heroes despite the loss of life (Sherman, Grant, Patton, MacArthur, Schwarzkopf, Franks, Petraeus, ect.) but our presidents -- rarely do they find any appreciation even in victory.

Re: President Bush Villiage Idiot or Evil Mastermind
well he could be trying to be a mastermind but failng miserably.
And in response to what political jedi wrote. I disagree with your conclusion that wartime presidents are always diliked. Noone can agrue that the presidents during the vietnam years and President bush jr. Are disliked but Washington, Lincoln, and FDR are loved. Truman is not loved but the majority of americans support his decision of dropping the atomic bombs on japan. And as for Wilson maybe he was disliked in his time but I really liked his as a president(except for the racist part) especially what he tried to do after WW1 with his fourteen points. It was a bold and unpopular stance but it was the right stance and one that could have prevented future wars and stopped unfair imperialism. President bush is hated for his decision to invade iraq(as well as other things), not his decision to go to war. Bush's opposition would be exponentially smaller if he had just held his pants in Afghanistan instead of pissing all over Iraq too. All of our wartime presidents are honored except LBJ Nixon and president bush. because they fucked up. And while vietnam was lbj's only real fuck up and nixon only had two fuck ups, president bush has a long long list of fuck ups. Here's 7! I bet people could come up with a lot more. CIA leak, Draft dodger, invaded iraq, failed energy policy, failed education policy, covered up environmental info, patriot act, So in conclusion I and all citizens of the United States as well as people all around the world have a solid basis for insulting our president. If you are an idiot and still support the president then good luck to you. I disagree that bush is hated simply because he is a wartime president and I don't like to brag but i got a higher sat score than bush... lol hes an idiot Last edited by Eric Bachrach; 07-15-2008 at 03:11 PM. Re: President Bush Villiage Idiot or Evil Mastermind
in a way its a bit of both, he's made some idiotic/poor choices, and also it just seems like he's trying to line his own pockets with the whole economy crap and the war.

Quote:
The stated goal of Desert Storm was never to remove Saddam from power, so it's pointless to whine about it as you do. The goal was to drive Iraqi forces out of Kuwait, which we did. We didn't need a strategy for what to do after removing him from power, because removing him from power wasn't what we set out to do... Quote:
It's a little ignorant to assume that all 126 nations would've remained behind us if we opted to remove him. They were on board with the goal we specified. It would've been somewhat different had we elected to invade Iraq...

Re: President Bush Villiage Idiot or Evil Mastermind
I am new to this forum, and am intrigued by this topic as well as George W. Bush. I will admit I loath him more than perhaps any other politician I can think of. I don't think he really is much a human being for that matter.
I don't think he is stupid or evil. I think he is a biproduct of elitism run amock. If you can think of a lazy, arrogant rich kid clueless about the plight of others then I think you begin to understand George W. Bush. He has made a lifetime of getting away with stuff namely because of his name (ie - jumping the military draft, bailing on his military commitment, getting into Yale and later Harvard despite lousy grades, bailed out after ruining corporations, getting breaks for illegal drug and alcohol use, illegally winning a presidential election because of his brother's influence, not being impeached after sitting there like a complete clueless idiot when America was experiencing her worst homeland attack ever, not being impeached for overtly lying about Iraq's threat the USA, etc.) If you read his oral autobiography "Dead Certain" - - it brings this trait out. He is a likeable guy when you get him away from any type of decision that may affect the lives of another human being. I think he is more adept shooting the breeze about major league baseball while he operates the keg at a college bash than ordering the mightiest army in the history of humanity into a soverign nation that really posed no threat to the United States. |

Re: President Bush Villiage Idiot or Evil Mastermind
It is a good thing there was a "neither" answer.
These kinds of polls are stupid. I come to think of the question: "have you stopped beating your wife?" If you have never beaten your wife, the answer is "no", but so is the answer if you have beaten her and continues to do so.
