Well, the woman in question would probably kill your average 200-pound man if she sat on him for a few minutes. Are you saying that the fact that I called her fat (not to her face) is a "woman's issue?"

So people never stand by and watch violence if it is committed against a man?

this is right up there with - YouTube - A Center For Ants?
The biggest problem I see that women and girls have is that so many of them get involved with half raised men who don't know the meaning of the world commitment.

I'm sure they have, but how often are men gang raped at high school homecomings?

The point is that women (and children of both sexes) are victims of violent crime far more than men. And women are victim of rape far more than men.

You asked what problems women and girls face more than boys and men and the fact is that violent sexual assault is one of those things.

And this special council would prevent that how?

I don't know, although preventing violence against women and girls is on their agenda according to the white house:

Working hand-in-hand with the Vice President, the Justice Department’s Office of Violence Against Women and other government officials to find new ways to prevent violence against women, at home and abroad.

President Obama Announces White House Council on Women and Girls | The White House

I was simply answering his question, not defending or criticizing this council.

So basically we live in a society that punishes motherhood.

Awesome.

So, as a woman, if I DO NOT stay home and I continue to bust my ass to progress in my career, I should accept making the same as a woman who stayed home with her kids for 5+ years?

Awesome!

That is just what we need. Women who think that they have the "right" to make the same as those of us who didn't take a lot of time off work.

Even more awesome!

That is what we need in this country. More of an entitlement attitude. She is ENTITLED to make the same as those of us who have been busting our asses. That is her RIGHT!! Never mind that she hasn't worked in 5+ years... that doesn't matter.... she is ENTITLED to be in that pay scale.

Re: Council on Women and Girls

You're creating a mythical woman who takes five years off and that's why she doesn't have the same status as a man. Nice strawman. Strawwoman?

Anyway, the simple fact of the matter is that a) women in comparable situations to men are, overall, disadvantaged, and b) you are ignoring underlying societal factors that put women in a position of inferiority.

There is a great book about this. I read it, you should too. It is about the very subject. "The Feminine Mistake" by Leslie Bennetts.

I am done with my copy... I can send it to you if you would like

This is not a "mythical" woman. It is a very common situation that many women find themselves in after they have taken long periods of time off to raise their kids until the children go to school. Many women are shocked to find how the job markets have changed and how far behind they really are after taking that much time off.

So do you feel that we need to have a council on insert demographic here whenever it can be shown that a given demographic has a particularly commonly occurring problem with a particular issue?

I seen a place where the white guys had higher positions than the black guys. QUICK MAKE A COUNCIL!

If they don't like the pay, they should ask for more or quit.

Keeping the home squared away and raising the kids certainly does have merit and is equally as important as going out and earning a wage. It's the role I'm serving currently for my family (my infant son is in my arms right now), it is a human role not a exclusively male or female role.

I'd say from what I've seen in recent years feminist moonbats and so-called progressives have done little or nothing to promote a fair and equitable society in regards to the issues women face.
Women (and other minorities) already get handouts for being minorities. See: AA. Now we need to devote more money to make the playing field "equal?" News flash: the playing field is already skewed in their favor. If they can't handle it, it's their fault.

I dunno. Melanie is fairly long. Sometimes getting Joel pee'd out dark enough is a problem. I also have a hose that helps me write fairly well. I'd assume you'd have to do some hip movement with this device. How dexterous are your hips?
