Sure, I'm sure it happens. But it'll be a chore convincing me that it's an epidemic that requires a "council"...
Well, I could have introduced you to my sister, but she died from complications related to her eating disorder. I'm not excusing her psychological problems because of the big bad MEDIA, but just do a little google search for some of the websites that glorify anorexia and bulemia. It is an epidemic. What's even more scary is it is starting to be an epidemic among adult women. People are developing eating disorders in their 40s!! Do I think a federal council is going to do anything about it? Probably not. But it is a growing problem in our country and ignoring it will not make it go away. Ignoring it is what let my sister put herself in her grave.

So you believe women shouldn't earn less then men simply because they are women?

I was being a wise ass with my last question. Earlier you mentioned studies that indicate part of the perception of wage disparity was because of failure to recognize "holes" in employment history that women are more prone to have . While there may be some merit in such a study I think it serves to obfuscate the reality that women do get the short end of the pay scale often for no other reason then they are women.

More women need to learn they can grow spines and stand up for what is right and the men among them should support it.

Well if you are assertive and effective in the workplace no one but you has any right to call you a bitch.

Keeping the home squared away and raising the kids certainly does have merit and is equally as important as going out and earning a wage. It's the role I'm serving currently for my family (my infant son is in my arms right now), it is a human role not a exclusively male or female role.

I'd say from what I've seen in recent years feminist moonbats and so-called progressives have done little or nothing to promote a fair and equitable society in regards to the issues women face.
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said.

It's already been addressed. Rape is illegal.

Where does this council say they are trying to improve the lot of minorities?

There are other ways to address these problems that go beyond making something illegal. The illegality of somethings has hardly ever been sufficient to address it effectively.

Again, im not arguing that this council will necessarily be effective, you asked what problems women and girls face more so than boys and men - one answer among many is violent sexual assault.

I live in a right-to-work state. In other words your employer is free to fire you simply because they want to. They are only limited by what is a legal reason to fire you. For example, they can't fire you because of your race. However, if you present yourself as a bitch then they can simply tell you to hit the road and you can't do a damn thing about it but look for another job. If they don't want to pay you a comparable wage they don't have to they just have to fire you and find some other woman who will put up with what they want to do. The only protection you have is laws and devices placed on the federal level which gives you protection.

Living in a right-to-work state means they don't have to give you a reason.

I live in a right to work state and I stand by my right to not get screwed over and work for BS wages.

It's targeting just one of them: sex (female).

Right. First you make it illegal and then you enforce it.

Sure. And people working around wood chippers probably suffer more from wood chipper-related accidents. And clumsy people probably have more sharp object-related accidents. And attractive people probably get raped more often.

I also wonder if the people who committed the rape were students that didn't want to go to school, but were forced to do it, anyway. I see California is already on the ball taking away our freedom:

A 1999 California law makes it illegal not to report a witnessed crime against a child

Yes, force criminals to go to school with the other kids and then try to correct the problem by forcing everyone to be a police informant.
