In all honesty though, you guys are kind of taking him out of context. He "hates" them because they are trying to profit off of the tragedy. I don't agree with it, but it's not like he "hates" them because they are 9/11 families (and he even said it was about 10 of them, not the bunch as a whole).

Definitely not the PC message, but a poor choice in words for trying to get his point across.

The guy didn't request it. It was requested by the Pentagon and approved by that guy. I don't know if he was fired or really did leave but someone's head rolled.

Umm...this is where reading comes in. The military affairs person at the WH AUTHORIZED it. He then took responsibility and quit or was fired.

I see, well I agree, decisions are made, at the wh level that well go wrong and that don't automatically touch the president.

Every time one of the Presidential planes take off, even if the President is not onboard, they have a fighter escort. so no fighter was SCRAMBLED. The fighter escorts are fully armed. And yes under certain conditions the Pentagon can scramble fighters with out prior Presidential permission.

So, its ok the president has to give no authorization for a fighter jet to fly over a major metropolitan city at 10,000 ft or less at times?

Nice... let's just imagine for 10 seconds if Bush did this how you libs would be reacting...

I kinda love the double standard...

Obama=Bush III
