I just don't think you get the wealthy 1% vs the rest of us at all.
That's what has been campaigned upon over the last 2 years. It's the democrat party who always demonizes the wealthy in this country--that represents less than 5% of this entire population. It's their motus of operende. It's been that way for decades. Democrat politicians telling you how horrible it is to work for these rich people. How rotten to the core they are & how the democrat party is going to put an end to this- by taxing the crap out of them-- somehow you will benefit---

And democrat politicians knowing all along that they are also the risk takers, the business owners that employ millions of Americans in this country.

So enjoy this current "flood the basement" Obamanoimics. Because the only thing that is being washed out of this country is J.O.B.S.

You never trust the government or any political party, but by GOD you trust your countrymen.

No, I think you're wrong, It's not "demonize the wealthy": don't forget that there were plenty of wealthy people who campaigned for and donated to Obama. The truth is, and has been known for some time, that 1% of the population in this country controls 90% of the wealth. These people contribute to Republican campaigns and control the business districts in this country. (Districts of industry and investment). These were the same people who made up the Robber Baron age of the late 19th century: they are not nice people and have acted intentionally to shift our means of support, through venture capitol, to the third world to enhance earnings and spread the profit margin further. In the mean time, look at the shape of this country. These people are not your brothers.

"Redistribution", "socialism", are buzz words that have nothing real behind them. What's happening to the 1% is no different than what happens to the rest of us when our payroll taxes go up, or gas goes up, or the bridge tolls go up, or housing costs go up, or health insurance costs go up, or tuition goes up, or jobs become scarce, or people lose their health insurance, or their kids get sick, or they have to cough up over $600 a month for day care so both parents can work, or their parents get sick and then milk goes up and meat gets more expensive - a pair of shoes goes to $100.00.

So, you think the 1% are having trouble enduring some sort of insult that they can afford? Because that's all it is to them you know - no - big - deal.

Dude. That kind of money makes money no matter what happens: they can hack.

It might be nice for you if you thought about your own position relative to those people and got with the real world: the 1% doesn't need you, and they will tell you that to your face.

Within 60 miles of a beach you have to buy what is called Fidelicomiso property or what gringo's call registerd property. It's very simple. A Mexican bank is the trustee holder, You are the registered beneficiary of the property, the agreement lasts for 99 years, which you can renew & you can buy or sell like we do with properties in the U.S. I pay a fee to the bank of approx. $400 U.S per year to maintain the agreement. If you do not pay they continually add the amount per year & charge interest. At any rate this fee, it is much less than what we pay in property taxes in the United States.

This is how it works.

I apologize for getting everyone so off topic!
I heard of some property cases making it all the way up to the Mexican supreme court, some time ago. Do you remember that was about?

From all the arguments I have had, the other ninety-eight point nine-nine percent would rather "have it out" for the one percent instead of eliminating official poverty in a market friendly manner.

I think this may be miss-applied morals by people of morals who can't always tell the difference between morals and amorals. The wealthy don't need a work ethic. The rest of us do.

You make it seem like foreign investment in third world economies does nothing for those economies. Infrastructure must usually be built and the type of work available may be more modern than that previously available. Incomes from those labor market participants enables production of other goods and services that otherwise may not be available.

In the US, I think our problems are more related to fiscal policy than Commerce. Fiscal policy affects Commerce. Infrastructure development could make Commerce more cost effective in the US. Consider that better fiscal policy could result in urban renewal efforts that could have made it more attractive for companies like WalMart to locate in major urban areas instead of residential areas where there is less mass transit and other infrastructure.

Yep, no wealthy people work hard, or have worked hard to get where they are. They aren't even actually born. They're hatched from moneybags laid by a golden elephant. That was where you were going, right?

If rich donations are coming into the Republican party--why is it our most wealthiest politicians are democrats?

You're still messing with the economy when you impose high taxes on the wealthy & the corporations of this country--because they both spell JOBS.

Just like in NJ & California--(because of their high states taxes) business is leaving in wagon trains to other states with a lower tax burden.

It's not rocket science--it's just common sense.

I never understood this. Why are there ANY wealthy Democrats? Shouldn't they be giving all their millions/billions to those poor that they care so deeply about?

Why does any liberal/Democrat have a house worth more than $250k? Shouldn't THEY be lowering their standard of living so they can donate all their money?

Also wondering if anyone who supports Obamanomics could tell me if it works here in my house?

I didn't go shopping today!! Does that mean that I "saved" over $200 dollars today?

DITTO--Obama should donate that 1.4 million he received for winning the Pulitzer Peace Price to the poor---

In truth I know one very wealthy individual. He started with nothing years ago & invested what he earned into restaurants, casinos, hotels, etc. etc. Today he has thousands of employees (who pay taxes)--& he has moved into another state to do the same he has done here.

So according to this administration raise his taxes to the heavens--flooding the basement) & see what he does. I can assure you that he will stop building restaurants, stop building casinos, stop building hotels & stop hiring employees.

This administration is so anti-business it is flat unbelievable. There wasn't anything in the stimulus bill that provided relief or incentive to small business in this country--& they are the largest employer in this country. Obama's plan tax the crap out of them if they make over 250K. Well what are they going to do? Stop expanding their businesse's.

Not really. I am not saying that wealthy people don't have work ethics, but that they don't need work ethics. A work ethic could be considered lower class.

I would argue (from experience actually) that wealthy people with no work ethic do not remain wealthy for long unless they are also frugal. A work ethic is a trait generally developed from hard work, which also builds an appreciation for what you have and for what you earn. Without that appreciation, I've seen people inherit fortunes their parents built and blow it all very quickly.

There is a reason that self-made wealthy person continue to get wealthier while lottery winners do not.

I am not sure how you reached your conclusion since it takes Capital to make Capital. I think money (Capital) management skills are much more important to a wealthy individual than is a work ethic.
