This is unbelievable. Last night main stream news--CBS--Katie Courick & her news reporter stated do not believe the numbers given by the WH regarding their claims of jobs saved or created due to the stimulus money.

The liberal media's slobbering love affair with this President--looks to be ending.

Forgive me for my cofusion but isn't this the same "liberal media" that helped whip the country into a frenzy of warmongering to sell the iraq invasion? The same liberal media who told us we needed FISA becasue otherwise the terroists would blow us all up? The same liberal media that put pentagon trained spokespeople on the news every night and claimed they were "independent miltary analysts"? The same liberal media that told us if the wall st fatcats weren't bailed out we'd all be fighting in the mud for the last crust of bread?

The only thing "unbelievable" about this is the spectacle of a network news organization breaking from their usual routine of acting as stenographer for whoever happens to be in the white house today.

Well to be fair it usually depends on how popular a president's policies are. Obama's policies aren't very popular right now so there's no hesitation for the MSM to cast doubts.

PLEASE--you know as well as I do that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, & MSNBC are literally responsible for Barack Obama sitting in the oval office today. They had absolutely no problems at all kicking Hillary to the curb to get Obama elected. They have continually "ignored" news that would cast a negative light on Obama up until now.

Oh yes absolutely. I know it is important for you to feel you can blame the "liberal media" for the fact that Obama is president. His victory had nothing at all to do with the eight years of bush and the six years of republican control of congress. I'm not trying to change our mind.

I see what you mean. They're still not doing any real reporting. But rather than being stenographers they're being marketing execs and running the story that they thik will bring the highest ratings and the most ad revenue.

The "liberal mainstream media", if it ever existed, stopped existing once Fox distorted the game by accusing them of being liberal so they all started reporting hyperconservatively. Overall there absolutely hasn't been a "liberal mainstream media" since roughly ~2000, and there probably hasn't been one since the early 90's or late 80's as the fallout to legislative changes under Reagan and Clinton that allowed gigantic corporations to own the news without having to be 'fair' on their reporting. Only recently, in the past year or two, has MSNBC actually decided being liberal is an under-served market niche for corporate news. Although their numbers are lower than Fox's, they are doing better than both CNN and CNBC.

I think the whole thing was an invention of Rush limbaugh.

today more than ever Tim, what you say is true but there are degrees to everything, this is unusual in and of itself as even CBS’s gag reflex had a hard time on this one, and while I agree there was a short window for Bush, the window is generally wide open for others, but your point is taken and overall I agree.
