Ignoring what else? There's zero substance to this topic. We might as well be talking about how some guy said that somebody told him that small aliens reside in our brains and are using advanced electromagnetic pulses to control the weather in favor of the New World Order. This thread is nothing but an unsubstantiated rumor and yet you blindly accept it as pure fact, tearing down any and all walls of reason. It's as if you're so spoon fed in your ideology that you've managed to completely lose the ability to say "Hey, this is kind of ridiculous."
This is not about you, either. It's just as much about those like you, both on the left and right, who don't actual engage in political discussion, but use political forums to spew obnoxious nonsense, ruin respectable debates and generally make the political landscape into a bunch of school children accusing each other of having cooties. You are the exact reason why politicians can get away with all sorts of crap. You and your ilk are the exact reason why politicians get a free pass on their fuck ups, because as long as it's your guy doing it, no problem. You sure are excellent at holding the other guy to task for not wiping his ass correctly or using the wrong fork at dinner, though. Bravo. Some aid may or may not have told Rush Limbaugh that the President won't pay golf with him. Stop the presses, guys! This is huge news that will impact the life of every American! This is serious business!
*facepalm*
Get serious, tsquare. People like you are the modern day equivalent of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. One of these days you're going to have an actual issue with the President and no one is going to pay attention to you because they'll figure you're just complaining about how offensive and racist Obama's new hair cut is.

FWIW, here's Limbaugh's response to today's news: YouTube - golf date

I like golf, I sure as hell wouldn't waste the time to play with Rush L. or the great O.

I agree completely. There is in this forum and others I've visited, a trend away from serious political dialogue towards inane "gotcha" politics. I have lost count of the ridiculous threads about Obama, from silly symbols to this crap, rhetorical regergitations than don't deserve to be called issues. This is not about you, either. I wasn't here during the Bush years so I can't comment on those threads, but when I see threads like this I do wonder if there is any real desire to have serious political discussion, or are people more interested in just making the "other guy" look bad. The only president who took office in more perilous times, in recent history, is FDR, and whether or not the most powerful man in the world will play golf with an radio personality, is a serious topic for conversation. Cacausion Please!

It's not that I wouldn't want to play golf with Rush Limbaugh if I were Obama because of political disagreements or the like; it's that I wouldn't want to play with Limbaugh cause he doesn't exactly seem to be that fun of a person to be around.
The guy couldn't just sit there and have fun analyzing football games; he had to get all political and stupid of course.
At least with Bush you knew you could party hard with the guy and just hang loose. No axe to grind from W.
I say this w/o any rancor toward Obama... but everything he does is about politics. That's who he is.
And Limbaugh was right... Obama can't play golf with him now... to many heads would explode, heads on his (Obama's) side of things.
Now... had Obama really been serious about all that coming together stuff (which we now know he was not) golfing with Limbaugh would have been the perfect way to demonstrate that. Obama, Axelrod, and Rush and Hannity(?) or Beck, or even George W. What a great way to co-op the other side? During the transition ask Bush to set it up... just the 4 of them... good people out to have a good time. Male bonding and all that crap!
But being that change agent was never Obama's plan... he said it because he was told too... it polled well. and it helped to hide Obama's real far left agenda.
Then at the beginning it would have been a master stroke... now forget about it.
The New York Post is a right wing rag not worth the paper it's printed on.
