Well hey the Jamboree has only been scheduled for... well about 4 years. And the 100th anniversary has only been scheduled for... well okay... 100 years.
But we all know he hates the Scouts... they are the real America...

This is one time, were I agree wholeheartedly, he should not go. I mean he as Prez. should, but, as a person, this kind of Org., the credo driving it is like the back side of the moon to him.
There is no one there to promise cheap activist manna. As a comm. organizer and chief purveyor of spreading/redistribution of wealth etc., this is the very antithesis of his "moral" underpinnings, in short there’s no one there to be conned and lead by his ethos.
The scouts are an org. that thrives on individual merit(s), preparedness, self reliance and a spirited sense of selfless patriotism, so yea, he should just go on the View.
The vapidity level there is right in his wheelhouse, the Jamboree is no place for him. I give him a thumbs up on this one.
Obama Missing Historic Boy Scout Jamboree for Fundraisers, 'View' Taping
President Obama will make history
as the first sitting president on a daytime talk show when he visits with the ladies of "The View." But he'll be missing out on another historic occasion -- the Boy Scouts' Jamboree marking the group's 100th anniversary, right in the president's backyard.
The Jamboree kicked off this week at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, where organizers had invited the president to speak to the 45,000 scouts in attendance. All three of Obama's predecessors have made it to one Jamboree while in office.
But the president will instead be traveling Wednesday to New York for a taping of the ABC show, as well as Democratic fundraisers and a stop in New Jersey. The talk show appearance comes as campaign season moves into full swing, but also amid efforts to cap the Gulf oil spill for good, contain the damage from an unprecedented leak of Afghanistan war documents and battle Arizona over its immigration law -- set to go into effect Thursday. Obama also has an out-of-town event planned for Friday in Detroit.

Greetings and Felicitations,
Thank goodness he is not supporting the Boy Scouts. Everyone seems to think they are this great thing but yet they have discrimination as part of their policy. No homosexuals and no atheist. I used to like them before they embraced this as a requirement for participation. I am glad that Obama isn't supporting them.
Sincerely Yours,
C. David Neely

It's beacuse the boy scouts are a racist orginization. Buncha cracker campers kidz with their blue uniforms, lack of batons w/black garb gets them no love at all.![]()
Take a good hard look, it's coming.
I'm going to a jewelry party tonight, and I don't think President Obama is going to be there. Such an a-hole!!
Take a good hard look, it's coming.
Even better. It's a single mom trying to make extra money because her daughter wants to be a cheerleader this coming school year. I mean come on, could you GET a better PR opportunity? But no, President Obama doesn't care about the little people. Like I said, what an a-hole.
Oh yeah.......100 years of Scouting vs The View...............why schmooze with cracker kids when you can hang with Whoopie?
Take a good hard look, it's coming.
How much time does he need to spend with them? The BSA have already said he's hosted two events with them in the Oval Office.
Go back as far as you want, any other president regardless of party would have been there to honor 100 years of the BSA.
Take a good hard look, it's coming.
Well, that's kind of hard to say now isn't it? The last 3 presidents spoke at the jamboree, but there was quite a gap before that. I'll admit, I just don't feel like looking it up, but it would interesting to look at the 75 and 50 year anniversaries. Honestly, there's a lot better things to be worked up about, but we all pick our battles, so if you'd like to pick this one, have at it.
