The rich are being helped by the Republicans who blackmail the rest of us to continue to give the ridiculous Bush tax breaks that played a huge role in getting us to this disastrous financial situation to begin with!

Does it help to keep on being held hostage by the Health care insurance industry with no real choice to counteract their constant demand for obscene increase, to allow them to refuse to cover ANYONE who really needs health care (people with pre-existing conditions, premature babies, fat babies, elderlies and disabled), but continue to charge three to four times MORE to cover basically HEALTHY population than the government pays to cover the high cost populations listed above?

Do you think that, the health care industry being able to continue their blackmail will HELP the deficit??? As the premiums for health care continue to increase, more and more people will have to give up their insurance. . .until, eventually, all the people who are sick will be under either Medicare or Medicaid, while the minority of healthy people WHO CAN AFFORD IT will pay 10 times the normal rate for health insurance in any civilised country!

And, since we cannot let people die. . .the government will have no choice but to pick up the people who are the most in need of health care. . .Do you think that will help the deficit???

And, obviously, although Medicare is costing a lot less per capita than private insurance (although it covers much greater health care needs!). . .you blind people continue to "bash" the government for not being "efficient!!!"

Why don't you ask the private "for profit" health industry to take EVERYONE, to cover all the people currently under Medicare, and Medicaid, for the same amount of money the government manage to cover them. . .And see what they will say!

They DON'T WANT to cover sick people. . .they ONLY want to cover HEALTHY people!

Agreed, You did not say that. You very carefully avoided saying that. You said the government should provide some services and not others (nice bumper sticker, btw) and then refused to go farther with your comments.

What do you mean ad hominem? Ad hominem is a logical FALLACY where one tries to refute the issue ILLOGICALLY by making claims about the poster. There's nothing false about what I said, especially since even you agree I didn't say what she claims I said. So what is the problem?

The reason I didn't go into the whole "what should the government do and what shouldn't it do" is because it seemed far too general for a thread about a Superbowl video involving O'Reilly and Obama. My purpose in this thread was to argue that Obama lied. Obama did lie. And I proved it.

Your disrespect for our military in Iraq and Afghanistan is noted, and scorned. I've friends who have been there and came back, all but one with only minor physical hurt, but they have all changed in so many ways.
