As expected Obama is going to kill the pipeline. Thus killing jobs, and keeping oil prices up in support of his green agenda, which by the way is not saving one drop of oil.

I was always very torn on this issue...but in a good way. On the one hand, i loathe environmentalists, eco terrorists who should be rounded up the same way we round up AQ.
However i absolutely loathe unions as well, and the prospect of 20K of unionized jobs being created, repulses me as well.
So whichever way this went down, i had at least a part of me that was disappointed, but at least one group of individuals whose misery i could revel in.

again Obama picks politics over the American people.
Moderates are not republicans

To be fair, this does help keep the price jus that slight bit higher as well. Bodes well for oil traders/speculators.

Only other pipelines which don't directly endanger the environment already exist, which is why I properly called it "largely useless".
I love the obvious hypocrisy here, as usual. When Obama takes measures to directly save tens of thousands of jobs in the auto industry, he is portrayed as being pure unmitigated evil. But when he doesn't allow a company with a proven track record of creating environmental problems to build a pipeline in an area which is critical to the water needs of the Midwest, and which would create a few thousand temporary jobs for a very brief time, he is again pure unmitigated evil.
Do you really think this continual obviously absurd partisanship is fooling anybody?

It'll be great press for the GOP when summer gasoline prices spike.

How you can connect the two is beyond me. Obama used tax payer dollars to save the union, for their vote, which should never have been done. The auto's should have been let to fail. Period. The tax payer will never get the billions he spent. Here he pandered to the union.
Now to the pipeline, here he is pandering to the environmentalist. In both cases it's all about getting the union and the environmentalist vote. It's not about the American people, he has never been about the American people. Further the pipeline is being built in the US to US specifications and under US inspectors. Hell we built the Alaska pipeline in arctic conditions over frozen tundra and it has been a huge success. Yet you claim we can't build a pipeline in ideal conditions.
Well, congratulations, President Barack Obama, Conspiracy theorists who generally can survive in anaerobic environments have just had an algae bloom dropped on their fucking heads, thus removing the last arrow in your pro-governance quiver: skepticism about your opponents. - Jon Stewart

I only took glee in the Union part though ; i would rather they have the jobs without the right to strike, and that sort of stuff.
