One on One you interview Obama....

As floated off into a melatonin induced sleep last night ( suffer from insomnia ) ... i had this vision of visiting the Whitehouse... will be going to DC end of February and that is part of the trip........ and i thought wouldn't it be neat to be able to have a one on one with the president....

And it posed the question .. what would i say to the president. Now since i do not drink his kool aide some would say I would be rude or political ...but he is the president due believe in the presence of the president you would be less "froggy" . What cause of the many i disagree with him on would i give my "two cents" ? what would i ask him to change in the country? And what would i ask him to do to change his conduct if anything?

Now i know as a mere red state , veteran, non celebrity non union member non gay rights, non women rights advocate... i would never get this chance but thought it would be an interesting thread premise. So if given the shot what would you use that time for? what would you ask him ? what you say to him?

Re: One on One you interview Obama....

If afforded the opportunity i would use the time for the following:

    1) talk to him about veteran rights, the loss of said rights under his reign and that he actually ensure as he slashes the defense budget to get money for more obama phones that he does not continue to strip away the health coverage that so many wounded and maimed soldiers of this nations wars really truly need.

    2) I would ask him to please for the nations sake stop the partisanship. Progressives will argue with me but he starts every issue with demonization of republicans... he spins it up to a fervor with his incessant "rah rah" campaign speeches that have never ended and even when compromise is accomplished he then either still criticizes the opposition or he ( through his media surrogates) rub the oppositions nose in the final outcome.

    3) MAN UP ! in a more eloquent way i would ask him to own his job and stop pointing fingers at everyone and everything whilst he fixes dick in this country .

Being that i feel that i am a good judge of character .. i would never get to question 2.... he would never really listen to question one ... he would pontificate and say he has "done more for soldiers" like danny says on this board and even when presented with facts that we have lost coverage... he would not listen... and then i would be showed the door....

I'm confused here so help me out but by stopping the partisanship do you mean just rolling over and doing whatever the Republicans want as they have been just as if not more partisan than Obama.
Surely you can't blame Obama for tying to get his policies through when he's just been re-elected to do just that?
If the nation wanted the Republican agenda they would have voted for it.

he is and will always install his agenda... but the constant grandstanding is what i am speaking of he is always stirring the partisan rancor for like you he wants the republican party to be a byline in history

now the thread is not ' troll by and dog other people's input" ... it is actually what would you do with your one on one interview with the messiah, so unless you are to just sit and stare at him with starry eyes and sigh alot

what would you ask him oh progressive one?

What you don't acknowledge is that only about 30% of the eligible voters in this country actually voted for Obama and his policies. Another 29% voted for the Republican plan. 40% just stayed home for one reason or another. It would seem to me that 40% don't really like either plan very much.

I'd ask him why he sent the Churchill bust back and why he's pretty much ignored your most important ally.

I'm certainly not star struck by him and I think he's been simply average as a President but I also dismiss the idea that he's been super partisan as false as your entire system is the most partisan it's ever been with compramise by all sides being seen as defeat. At the moment it's be be partisan or roll over and die.

If Romney would have won I have a feeling the left would be claiming the exact same thing.

You keep saying this and how can you possibly know who those people who didn't vote would have voted for?
Maybe they would have voted for The Queen if she'd stood as a candidate with the promise of rebuilding the British Empire.

If they don't vote you can't claim anything about them. They could just as easily have all been so confident of an Obama with they were going to vote for him but stayed home and watched Dr Who instead.

I would tell him that Gay Rights, Abortion and Gun Control are not the bane of a solid nation.
We need to revisit all of our Foreign Trade deals and indulge in Comparative Advantage and not a Free-For-All "Imperialistic" fashion global economy.
I would tell him that we are not the global police and if other nations cannot handle their own military related issues then we might provide training but not backbone.
We need to improve our infrastructure.
I'd also tell him to trim every piece of Federal-to-State aid by at least 5% every year and that every program that receives money must automate it's processes.
Send all business visas home, bring all Products/Servirs geared for the US back to the US.
Pass immigration reform and either secure the borders or declare the US open to everybody.

I had to stop watching Laurence O'Donnel's The Last Word on MSNBC because he insists Obama is a fantastic president.
What the hell are some of these people smoking?

At least Maddow and Burnett criticize both parties to no end.

    He's an idiot.
He's so partisan that even when he's occasionally correct I can't take his judgment seriously.
