Personal insults/attacks by other members.
The content posted by other members, whether directed at you personally or a label/classification you associate with. This includes remarks you consider to be libelous or slanderous in any way.
Any financial or time loss due to your participation here or as a result of something you read at this site, including posts/PMs by other members and feature(s)/software available at the domain uspoliticsonline.com.

You are prohibited from using your real name on these forums, either as your username or in posts / PMs you write.

FORUM RULES, IN ADDITION TO THE DISCLAIMER

1. These rules apply to all sections of USPOL, including public and private forums, blogs, and visitor messages.

2. You cannot attack and/or personally insult someone. You cannot bait other forum members; this includes referring to posters by derogatory terms. Please, remain courteous and respectful to all forum members at all times. You agree to take responsibility for reporting such posts when you come across them. Please, use the ignore feature if need be. Any member who intentionally and continually posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response, or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, may be regarded as a troll by staff, and have their account suspended or banned.

3. You cannot harass (sexually or otherwise) other members. This includes malicious, slanderous, or defamatory comments. If you are not sure if something you write is inappropriate or not then don't say it. Err on the side of caution.

4. Copying and Pasting Articles, and Starting New Threads. You cannot simply cut and paste in posts or when starting threads. You MUST provide the identifying information (source, author, date, and URL). You must also offer some original thoughts along with the cut and paste. You may copy and paste an excerpt or series of excerpts from the article. Excerpts really shouldnt be more then a paragraph or two. Furthermore, if you use images or other copyrighted material in your posts or signature you must have permission of the copyright holder unless you know for a fact that the image is in the public domain. In addition:
a. It must include the identifying information; e.g., where available, the author, the publication, the date, the URL.
b. The member must offer some context, including: How did you hear of this article? What is your opinion? Why is it important to you? Why should it be important to forum readers? The more context you provide, the more you assist others in gauging the excerpted information's significance.
c. You may copy and paste an excerpt or series of excerpts, not the whole thing or even the majority of the whole thing to encourage people to read the entire article.

A violation of any of the above will result in the deletion or closing of the post or thread and could earn you a warning or suspension. If you have any questions concering any of the above please PM a moderator and we will be happy to clarify.

5. You cannot post the same thing in multiple forums. You must not open similar threads about the same or a similar topic. You cannot spam the board or send unsolicited messages to members via PM, email or any other means.

6. Do not post off-topic. You cannot derail a thread with off topic posts.

7. You cannot shout in posts. This includes posting in all CAPS, bold, lIkE tHiS, and extra large font. Posts should also be one color, although you may use an additional color for highlighting ideas you wish to address.

8. You may not alter quotes in a way that misrepresents what was originally said.

9. Multiple accounts are not allowed. If you are found to have more than one account all accounts will be permanently terminated.

10. You cannot have a user name, avatar, signature, or post images that are deliberately offensive. That includes the display of overly explicit or graphic images that may not be suitable for minors.

11. Signatures can not have more than three lines of text, with a font size no larger than "4", and no more than two font colors. Images in signatures cannot be any larger than 800 pixels wide x 200 pixels tall. Animated images are not allowed.

12. You are prohibited from taking any action to disturb the use of the services by others, distribute material that contains viruses, spyware or any other malicious code or harmful programs. This includes interfering with the working of the network, attempts to gain unauthorized access to a service or other computer systems that are part of the site or any other site, by use of the available services.

13. Discussion of moderation actions in public and/or private forums is not permitted. Moderation actions include warnings, suspensions and the editing or deletion of posts. If a member has a concern about a moderation action, he or she is invited to address it with the board staff via Private Message. This rule exists to protect the privacy of all posters with regards to disciplinary action. The moderator team will never publicly discuss the warnings/suspensions of any posters, and we ask that you return the favor, whether about yourself or another poster. Posting about moderation actions in the public forums constitutes a violation. You are free to discuss a moderation action via Private Message with the moderator involved, but you may not harass or abuse the moderators (as already specified in the forum rules). In practical terms, this means that once a moderator tells you his or her decision is final, no further PMs about that moderation action are permitted. If you have a concern about a moderation action, you are free to appeal to a Forum Administrator via Private Message. You may only discuss moderator activities or discussion of moderation with staff member if you chose to private message and are not under any circumstances allowed to use the PM function to forward or promote moderator discussion in regards to specific forum action, amongst other regular members. Administrators do reserve the right to read said PMs and may do so ; if that results in discovery of messaging between posters of such moderator discussion then it will lead to the same violation being received for discussing said moderator actions on the forum. If you receive a message to the effect of having been given moderator information, please report it to a member of staff. Engaging back in that discussion with the original violator will earn you just as stiff a sanction.

14. Do not ignore moderators or administrators. Do not repost something a moderator or administrator has deleted. You cannot have moderators or administrators on your ignore list.

15. Only post in English. Short passages in foreign languages may be acceptable if its use seems helpful for the ongoing discussion and when there is no indication of a potential violation of the forum rules. Always provide a translation into English in such cases. In case of doubt, the incident will be regarded as a violation, no matter of the actual meaning of the foreign language text.

16. The use of words/comments etc. written by other posters, without approval of the poster in your personal signature is not allowed nor are references, by name, to other posters allowed.

17. Please pay attention to announcements by Forum staff that will be found in the "Welcome! / News & Announcements" forum from time to time.

18. Use of "liar", "lies", "lying", etc. Accusing someone of being a "liar" or similar accusations towards other posters will generally be regarded as implying an insult and therewith as a violation of the forum rules. "I question the validity of your statement because...", "That's not the truth" or "you are wrong about that" are sufficient for any decent discussion if you want to disagree with somebody's assertions.

19. Thread opening restriction for new members. In order to control SPAM, new members must have moderator approval to start their own threads.

20. Thread titles must relate to the discussion within. Do not make misleading titles, or titles such as "Guess what..." or "You'll never believe this...". Members need to be able to identify the general gist of the thread via the title. Profanity in thread titles is not permitted.

21. Forum members are instructed to use forum tools and abilities for their intended purposes and no other. If members identify a forum glitch or weakness of any kind that allows you to see or do something you know you shouldn't, please report it. Being aware of any unintended access to the Forum and failing to take appropriate steps to notify staff of said access issues, will create a presumption of seeking to take advantage of the issue, will result in either account suspension, or banishment.

22. Any link to a site that contains graphic content, must contain a warning describing what a person might reasonably expect to view if they click on said link. No graphic pictures are to be posted on the Forum.

23. Threats or advocations of violence toward a public figure, or member of the Forum, will not be tolerated. Conversation about revolution or the like is not prohibited by this rule; directly calling for violence is, eg It's time to kill every <redacted> that voted for the bill, is not permitted.

24. Accounts with no posts will be deleted after 30 days. Inactive accounts with low post histories may be deleted after one year.

25. Private forums are something offered to members that decide to contribute directly to this site via donations. These donations help immensely in keeping this site up and running. Private forums are designed to allow the contributing member discuss whatever he/she wants to and to have the power to direct that discussion in whatever way he/she chose. They were not designed nor are they intended for simply talking trash about members that don't have access to the forum. While the targeted members cannot see the forum or the comments, it creates a negative atmosphere that really isn't necessary. If you want to totally rip apart ideas, ideologies, political parties, etc. that is fine. We simply ask that you don't use the private forums as a means to attack other members that aren't privy to such comments. It is difficult enough to have a political discussion forum because the discussion of politics is inherently heated as people are so passionate about their beliefs...the ones that take the time to come to such a site in the first place at least. The idea of private forums is so people of similar political persuasions can discuss whatever they want without fear of being attacked. Nonetheless, we hope that a certain level of maturity would foster itself within such an arena and not simply lend itself to a bashing forum.

Private Forums are governed by all of the above Forum rules. In addition:
  • Private forums that essentially become abandoned homes will be subject to deletion, donation or reorganization. Just like elsewhere in life, clubs sometimes lose their vitality and purpose for a myriad of reasons. If it becomes clear that a private forum has clearly lost its vitality and nobody is going to really use it anymore, owners are advised to consider whether to reuse the forum for something new and productive rather than let them linger or notify the Administration that the forum should be rearranged for other purposes, closed, merged with other compatible private forums, donated to others for new purposes, etc. Do not be concerned that your forum must be a membership and post count race with others to avoid falling under this policy; the question is whether your forum has actual vitality instead of being 'brain dead.'
  • Additionally, private forums may only be owned by subscribed members in the Platinum or Diamond categories.
  • Should the owner of a private forum be banned, quit USPOL or otherwise abandon the forum the PF will be transferred to another owner or closed.
  • Propriety of private forums. Administration staff will determine the desirability of a proposed private forum and enact any conditions upon it to ensure its purpose is productive.
  • Any and all instances of sharing accounts by allowing someone else to log in under their own account so they can see into private forums for which they are otherwise not permitted to access, will be deemed violation of the double account rule and all caught doing so will be permanently banned.
  • Relaying private forum posts and information to other posters who are not members of the particular private forum for any negative or destructive purpose (eg mean-spirited gossip, fueling interpersonal disputes, etc), is not permitted, and will constitute a violation of the Forum rules.
  • For purposes of monitoring USPOL Terms of Service Administrative staff (not Moderators) will have access to Private Forums.
  • All Private Forums must have at least one active Administrator as a member for purposes of handling issues which cannot be addressed through moderation permissions.
  • Discussion of moderation activities is prohibited on the open site and is likewise prohibited in Private Forums.

26. The administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit and/or delete a post,and/or close a thread, and/or delete a thread at any time if of the opinion that the post is too obscene, inappropriate, or the discussion has run its course.

27. 'Back seat moderating' is not allowed. If you take issue with another poster's contribution to the forum, you're welcome to report any posts you think are out of line, but you should not bring it up publicly within the forum.

28. Images in posts (whether embedded or hot linked) must be reasonable in size. 800x800 should be considered a good rule of thumb. Excessively large images make it difficult for users on mobile devices to load pages. If necessary please simply link to very large images using the URL tags. In addition, the following images are not permitted (including, but not limited to pages with images or videos containing):
  • Strategically covered nudity
  • Sheer or see-through clothing
  • Lewd or provocative poses
  • Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches

29. Any solicitation or communication involving sports betting / gambling / online casinos / bookies and or internet based card or slot machine systems or sites will lead to all said content being physically removed from the site and server, and will lead to any and or all parties involved being permanently removed and banned from the site to the farthest extent possible. This includes any links to any form of bookmaker, casino, any type of game or match or event where money transfers on the outcome or link of any sort to wire act violations and or anything in violation of either the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, or the Federal wire Act. This applies not only to the open forum but all and or any chat rooms, articles, private messages and or private forums. All content that violates this rule will be deleted, without notice.

CONSEQUENCES

Failure to comply with any of the forum rules may result in your posts being edited or deleted and/or your account being temporarily or permanently banned from the forums. U.S. Politics Online uses a warning system that generates an automated Private Message to members when they are in violation of Forum rules. The decision to issue a warning is left to the discretion of the moderator or administrator handling the violation. If a member does not agree with an action taken by a moderator, they can appeal to an administrator after seeking clarification from the moderator who issued the warning/infraction and appealing to them in the first instance. Members MAY NOT harass a moderator or administrator by sending excessive PMs when they are discussing an appeal.

Violations are assigned a point value. Points are valid for 30 days. When a members earns 10 points, their account will be automatically suspended: five (5) days for a first suspension; ten (10) days for a second suspension; and twenty (20) days for a third suspension. If a member incurs an additional 10 points after having served three periods of suspension, then they will be permanently banned from the Forum.

Point values are as follows:
Zero (0) points Warning
Two (2) points - Minor infraction / Non post infraction (minor) / Off topic posts / spamming
Four (4) points - Academic dishonesty / Baiting / Discussing moderator or administrator actions / Implying an insult / Minor insults / Moderate infraction / Non-post infraction (moderate) / Thread dumping
Six (6) points - Direct insult at another member / major infraction / Non-post infraction (major)
Ten (10) points - Act of criminality, or advocating thereof

The administrators and moderators also bear the right to issue warnings, temporarily suspend or ban posters for continued trolling or other serious misconduct (eg. professional spamming) even if the poster has not yet reached the maximum warning points or suspensions level. Other options if the above consequences do not seem adequate include placing the member in a moderation queue, which means all posts will have to be approved before they are posted to the board.

Furthermore, no information will be released on threat of a lawsuit, attempted or actual intimidation, or due to any other reason except as notated in the first sentence of this paragraph. You didn't answer my question though did you.
How big do you think a US communist party would become if you just learned to relax and let the communist party become a boring normal political party in the US.

I'm willing to bet that it would get a piss poor number of votes and be about as influential as any other tiny fringe party so not influential in the slightest.

Communism is dead just get over it even China isn't full communist any more.

I didn't spoon feed it to you. But made you work for it.

Lets try again. Read through the list, and consider which American political party supports that policy. For your own
benefit, you might want to consider which UK political party supports that policy. To help you, I'll highlight the ones of particular relevance, because some of them are a little antiquated.

      1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

      2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

      3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

      4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

      5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

      6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

      7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

      8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

      9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

      10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

      11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

      12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

      13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

      14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

      15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

      16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

      17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

      18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

      19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

      20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

      21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

      22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

      23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

      24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

      25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

      26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

      27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

      28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

      29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

      30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

      31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

      32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

      33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

      34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

      35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

      36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

      37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

      38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

      39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

      40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

      41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

      42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.

      43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

      44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

      45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Now keep score. I'll give you a hint, it's not quite a shutout, but it is rather devoid of
      competition.

How about just answering a pretty simple question.

How many votes do you think a communist party would get if it was allowed in the US.

It's not a trick question and it's not that hard to put a vague figure to so I will go ahead and say I think they would get maybe 1 million votes spread across the whole US and would win precisely zero seats in the senate and house or at most a couple giving them fuck all power.

You are scared of an opponent you've already defeated.

Just out of interest nowhere in Europe as far as I know has loyalty oaths why do Americans feel it's so important?
Do you think we love our country any less because we don't have oaths?

        ?

Communism has failed, that has been recognized everywhere, even including most communist countries. Exceptions, like N. Korea, are leadership cults, which involve a particular level of failure not restricted to communism.

The list Commodore provided is "borrowed from". IOW, it is debatable if the original communists (Russian Soviets) borrowed ideas -a few of C's bolded parts- from liberal movements existing by 1917. Or, liberal/leftist movements were influenced by communists even after they proved their failure, circa 1980. I'm going with communists borrowing from moderate left wing movements circa 1917. The right attempts to claim these ideas did not exist before state communism was first practiced, which points to the failure of their argument.

The other elements of C's bolded claims -the replacement of family by the State- is invention. The minority of the left -state communists- represent only their own opinions rather than the pro-family position taken by the vast majority of the left. Quoting a marxist professor in an attempt to paint the entire left will convince the right wing choir, but not thinking independents.

The UK is much much more left wing than the US but to try and claim we're in any way communist would be laughable.

Well some people on the right see any sort of societal cooperation as socialistic or communistic. Yet when people group together to fulfill a common goal, like say our military, the collectivism which HAS to take place is ignored by these same right wingnuts. In principle this is the same thing that many places in Europe indulge in, the society as a group cooperating to address the good of the society, of the people of that society. This is how man evolved as a species, in cooperation, in collectivism, and its in our dna. It takes strong mental, ideological conditioning for man not to do this.

US citizens can be odd that way. We don't see how other countries -developed or not- have dealt with monumentally disastrous experiments like communism. I've even heard some on the left concede that Reagan was at the front of the line of those responsible for collapsing the Soviet Union. A famous claim made by the right wing, but many lefties (including myself) once believed "whole hog". Little to no concession to Soviet citizens' role in destroying a non-responsive state, by refusing support as well. Little to no concession to Europe and GB's left observing that implosion and taking lessons. Little to no credit in your evolving socialist practice to integrate capitalism into your economies, which then surpassed some measures of prosperity of the US.

Not to claim that the left is perfect, but it shows just how rigid -downright brittle- the US right wing can be; unable to learn and adapt.

                  ?

Former Soviet spy: We created Liberation Theology

Washington D.C., May 1, 2015 / 03:34 pm (CNA).- Espionage deep in the heart of Europe. Secrets in the KGB. Defection from a communist nation. Ion Mihai Pacepa has seen his share of excitement, serving as general for Communist Romania’s secret police before defecting to the United States in the late 1970s.

The highest-ranking defector from communism in the ‘70s, he spoke to CNA recently about the connection between the Soviet Union and Liberation Theology in Latin America. Below are excerpts of the interview. All footnotes were provided by Pacepa.

Not to change the subject or anything, but have a look at this here story.

Our wacky leftist president is pissing off his own homeland !!

The man (this Obama fellow that happens to occupy the whitehouse) is a serious nut-job. Maybe this is his way of coming out of the closet ?

I don't know, but this guy gets weirder and weirder every day.

It seems that Mr. Obama at least sees himself as the Grande Master of homosexuals and pushing their so-called "rights."

Seriously ? We put this mental case in the whitehouse ?

                      TWICE ?!?!?

Hundreds of Kenyan pastors have had enough of President Barack Obamas aggressive push for African nations to forsake their religious convictions and fully embrace homosexual behavior and same-sex marriage.

                      ...

Bishop Mark Kariuki, a megachurch pastor who advises some 700 pastors as the leader of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, says what isnt welcome is a repeat performance of Obama scorning believers for not ascribing to his homosexual agenda.

We would like to send a strong message to the U.S. president that the homosexuality debate should not become part of his agenda, as it has been his tendency whenever he comes to Africa, Kariuki told Kenyas Daily Nation newspaper on Monday.

                      ...

Archibishop of Nairobi Cardinal John Njue called out Obama and other international leaders for their role in the destruction of nations embracing the failed social experiment of homosexuality.

Those people who have already ruined their society let them not become our teachers to tell us where to go, urged Njue, who also serves as president of the Kenyan Episcopal Conference. I think we need to act according to our own traditions and our faiths.

Many on the African continent have become disillusioned with the president since he took office in 2009, especially after completing his evolution to favor same-sex marriage in May 2012, when he ramped up his pro-LGBT agenda on a global scale.

The standoff was a pretty pass for a president elected on the promise that he would restore tranquility and peace to America's relationship with other nations around the world, LifeSiteNews Ben Johnson reports. It was neither the first nor the last time that the president decided that advancing the homosexual agenda trumped indigenous African human rights issues.

I'm willing to bet that it would get a piss poor number of votes and be about as influential as any other tiny fringe party so not influential in the slightest.

Communism is dead just get over it even China isn't full communist any more.

He is surely a nut job. But I didn't bat an eye when I read this story. It's nice to see that other nations have not lost their minds completely. Either this country is incredibly stupid or it has become flooded with people who don't understand or give a crap about our constitution, which upholds our once desired way of life. Either way, not feeling so thrilled about living under the guidelines of these new creatures.
